Nice Moniter Oct 19, 2009 Only 2 bad pixels on this machine. Other than that, it was very nice and a good price.

Grey Streak Against White on Yours? Jun 20, 2009 A bit pricey, but an OK monitor for enthusiast/ hobby graphics once the color is calibrated at slower (non-accelerated) refresh rate to tone down the over-saturated reds, blues, and purples.
The Viewsonic color calibration driver is useless, and their software blanks the screen during boot (really slow "loading from memory" message). Better to stick with graphics card driver (I have a quick Nvidia with lotsa RAM) and a decent calibration software package. I already had a Monaco package from X-rite, and it works good with this display.
One MAJOR problem - this is the reason for my 2-star rating. There is a grey streak (against white) - about 1 cm horizontal by 3-4 mm vertical, located smack in the vertical center of the screen.
On my first monitor from Amazon, it was located on the right side of the screen. Returned that monitor to Amazon for replacement. The replacement monitor has an IDENTICAL grey streak, except this time it is smack dab in the horizontal center, as well as in the vertical center of the screen.
This is my first Viewsonic, and it is the only monitor I have ever has to return (in 20 plus years) because of a defect.
Has anyone else received a monitor from Amazon with this defect? It seems to be on the glass. Or maybe it is a really big dead pixel cluster?
I have been using NEC and Samsung for years, but I chose this monitor because the other manufacturers have shifted their professional/ semi-pro graphics monitors to the emerging LED backlight technology, and those monitors are currently priced at around a grand for similar screen size. I just was not prepared to drop that much cash on a product that will come WAY down in price - not far into the future.
I'm returning the second defective Viewsonic VP2250wb monitor to Amazon, and if the third Viewsonic has the grey streak defect, it's back to a Samsung Pro series (like the XL-24), or something else like Lacie or NEC with LED backlight that can actually be calibrated. Most everything else uses a "TN" panel with acceleration to 2 ms refresh rate at the sacrifice of color bit depth. Fine for average use, but they will not calibrate color for graphics.

In a word - JUNK! Feb 15, 2009 Between the monitor and the tech support I will never buy another ViewSonic. The top of the screen is dark. The bottom is washed out. The color in between is nowhere near accurate. They have no Mac compatible drivers. And, tech support just wants to get off the phone and send you on a wild goose chase. Get new drivers for your video card. Can you try a different video card? Try using a different cable. Switch it to a different computer. Or, (and I LOVE this one) get one of your neighbors to try using it for a while. I'm not kidding. I didn't spend over $300 on a monitor to give it to my neighbors!! After my 4th call, they did advise me to return it.

Not for professionals Dec 01, 2008 I am a professional photographer and use 3 Viewsonic LCD monitors for my office and production. Recently I added a computer to my setup and needed a more color and luminence accurate monitor. Being a Viewsonic fan and very satisfied with my previous VP930b LCD monitor I picked VP2250 to add to new computer. I was looking for a monitor with better color reproduction and as VP2250 can produce Adobe colors I bought it. It was a mistake. I couldn't calibrate it using i1Display2 to get complete dark and consistent contrast and brightness. It did show considerable difference in color when I assigned AdobeRGB profile instead of sRGB profile to a RAW picture file. Conclusion is I found this monitor way inferior in performance than previous ViewSonic VP930b monitor which I bought 2 years ago. Can you guess what I did? I returned it and many Thanks to Amazon.com to refund 100% and also sending me return shipping label. All frustration about this Monitor blew away by Amazon.com's customer service. Please do not missunderstand my review, it is a good monitor for an average user.
Very good monitor for video and photo editing Nov 20, 2008 This monitor has excellent color resolution, brightness, consistency across the entire screen and refresh rates. Very good for doing video and photo work/ upper end graphics. It also has a built in USB hub for 4 devices.
The one major weakness (and why it gets 4 instead of 5 stars) is its lack of support for HDMI, a format which will probably be more widely adapted in upper end video and photo work).
