3Love the physical shape, hate U3, flaky behavior, died in 13 months  Feb 16, 2010
I bought this back in January 2009 along with the Pivot Flash Drive USB 2.0 ([...]). The Pivot has performed much better than this Sandisk. The Sandisk came with annoying U3 software and stubborn partitions which required downloading a special utility from the manufacturer's web site to remove. The stick performed pretty well on my Windows XP Professional home computer, but never worked on Windows XP embedded at work. It was very flaky on my Windows XP 64 desktop at work, frequently causing the entire file system along with any window (explorer, cmd shell, save as) dialog waiting on file I/O to hang until I abruptly removed the stick. Eventually the stick developed errors causing simple file copy to/from it to hang forever on one of my TrueCrypt file archives. I finally threw it into the E-recycling basket.

The Pivit is still going strong, works on all the above platforms I mentioned above, never hangs the file system, and doesn't cause some platforms to freak out when attempting to install drivers upon first connection.

5MEMORY ON THE GO...  Aug 16, 2009
THIS LITTLE THING IS A LIFE SAVER... WHEN THE PRINTER GIVES ME PROBLEMS, I POP THIS IN AND PRINT ELSEWHERE. ALSO GREAT FOR SCHOOL REPORTS WHEN WORKING AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME, IT KEEPS EVERYTHING TOGETHER.

3Sandisk is losing its edge  Aug 08, 2009
Th basic concept of a slide down porector of the USB connection is reasonable, but it feels pretty flimy for a Sandisk product. Also, beware the width as it might make it hard to plug in other USB devices where the connections are close. Finally, as is the way now, they are loading their products with more and more software, using room and making them harder to use at times. If you just want a thumb drive that stores your documents they are harder and harder to get. Nothing really bad to report though - it hasn't lost any files or broken, so just middle of the road.

1Software in a USB means bad compatibility  Jul 30, 2009
When I want a thumb drive I want it to just store data otherwise it is very likely that it won't work on some machines, which is what happened to me. It didn't work on Ubuntu.

3This Flash Drive is not Tough Enough  Jun 24, 2009

So Warning, this flash drive Burned out After I had it Plugged in for more than 8 hours.
