This is the third one of these that I've bought. Yeah, I'm a nerd with three machines at home. I did that because of customer satisfaction (I'm happy) with the product and the price point. I'd extend that comment to include Samsung flat-screen TV's, of which I have a big one and a smaller one. Also, I love this family-owned fine company as two decades ago I had been introduced to it by Ike Lee (their US behind-the-scenes magician). Thanks Samsung. Keep it up.

Well, when I decided to buy this I had gone through some of the reviews, but apparently not enough negative ones. The negative ones that say about the monitor basically dying and turning itself off is exactly what is happening to me, and rather than having it for a year I've only had it for 2-3 months.
The first monitor that came to me would not turn on no matter what I did (I also used my own power cable in case it was just that with no success). So I returned it and decided to have them just replace it... which I am now regretting. Since moving in to a new apartment it has decided when it wants to turn itself off. Even when I am in the middle of using my computer (looking on the internet, etc) it'll just go black and turn itself off. I wasn't sure if it was because I only had it connected via Analog (because my computer is older and doesn't have Digital), but it sounds like this is not uncommon for this monitor. It just totally sucks that mine decided to turn to crap after 2 months.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do about it because the other reviews that said they called Samsung directly sounded like they had limited success... but I also don't want to blow the money that I spent on this goodbye.
So overall... DON'T buy this!
A lot of monitor for the price May 28, 2010
I love this thing. It puts my older flat panel to shame (they live next to each other for now). The stand is a bit flimsy and the screen is ridiculously bright, even with the settings toned down. I'm using dynamic contrast for now. Some websites that are rendered in darker colors tend to make the monitor switch to a very lowly-lit contrast setting which can be annoying. Might have to go back to a standard contrast. Overall, this monitor is great though. Oh, to whomever complained about the blue led at the base of the monitor... get real. It's barely noticeable, even while sitting on a reflective glass table. I don't even notice it at all anymore.

This is a very nice monitor with high quality features. I've had this monitor for a couple months now and I am extremely pleased with the wide screen that this monitor has. Viewing multiple applications is a breeze. This monitor has a 21.5 inch viewing. It also has 1080 full high definition resolution which means that I am able to see more applications at one time. The picture is extremely clear. The colors contrast is brilliant and bright. I can also open multiple applications and set them side-by-side and when viewing pictures and video I am able to see more of the picture using this 21.5 Samsung high-definition widescreen monitor. This monitor is stylish with a shiny black polished frame. It is slim which allows you to have more room on your desktop. The monitor sits on a polished black glass stand. It also tilts backwards and forwards for easy viewing. The function buttons are located on the side of the monitor. The monitor is very durable and sturdy. Overall this is a middle of the road monitor with a high end function. The quality is great and the price was reasonable.
