New Firmware, It seems to all work - XBOX READY!! Mar 11, 2010 I've been using this for about 2 months. They've released a new firmware updates and this router has been running without a hiccup. I am a huge xbox live player (easy open NAT setup) and an avid torrent user. This router has become my new best friend in those respects.
Problems with router Mar 07, 2010 I returned first router . It was defective . Connection was always unstable and slowed connection time with my P C . I also had 3 hrs. of troubleshooting by phone with Netgear , my internet provider , and back to Netgear once again .
The final analysis was that router was defective after several hrs.of installation troubleshooting and trying to understand language barrier of techs .
I installed exact router replacement and router " appears " at this time to be O K , although I have flickering and amber colored lights on router and one tech I talked with prior stated that is O K . The other tech stated that connection is not O K .The final on this is still yet to be determined .
My connections are hard wired to P C , T V , and blue ray player . Laptop computer wireless connection appears to be OK per another member of family .
I am not yet convinced that everything is satisfactory . Time will determine this .

Great...when it works Mar 01, 2010 My NETGEAR WNR3500 Wireless-N Gigabit router works well but I've had some quality issues. Namely, the wireless part stopped working. The installation was easy and I was up and running within a half hour (I'm no IT expert). Purchased this router primarily for the Gigabit LAN ports gaming (Xbox360) and that works great. I also have four wireless devises (two laptops, two iPods); and, athough the wireless part of this router was an afterthought (couldn't readily find a gigabit wired router) I really appreciated the wireless g to n upgrade once I started to use it.
That is, until it stopped working. After five weeks the wireless part wouldn't push data. Wired ports were fine, unaffected. But the wireless side wouldn't work. The router did its "handshake" with the devices and the devices recognized the router and said they were connected; but, the router wouldn't move any data. The devices worked on other wireless networks (work, parent's house, school) so it wasn't a device problem. Default settings were always used, unchanged out of the box.
I bought this at Best Buy and they swapped it with no issues. Replacement is back up and running fine now. Based on the reviews here it seems that this router has had lots of issues and hasn't been fool proof.
Wireless Gigabit Router Feb 23, 2010 Everything about this product is good.
I have used other brands but these Netgear units have the range and never drop the connection. I have units at several locations including a wireless IP Camera that is over 120 ft from the router.
Yes the frame rate on the Camera is a bit slow because the camera is 54mb/B but it's a long haul without a relay unit, but meets my needs.
On the other hand my wife's wireless setup from her desktop has jumped from 120mb
to 300mb speeds just going from an older N router. Of course the reason for the switch was for the direct connections now even faster.
Good products and easy to manage. Great flexibility for all types of connections including VOIP (skype wireless) In this area of VOIP it is probably the best choice over other multiband brands.
Great Product, But Poor Customer Service! Feb 22, 2010 The product failed, and they keep giving me excuses as to why they couldn't just give me my money back since there were no more replacement units. If you have a question and need to give them a call be sure to get your favorite beverage before calling. Of the five times I had to call it took me about 10 to 12 minutes to get thru to someone. WNR3500 was the device that I purchased, I hope this is helpfull, I know I will never buy from netgear again.
