Replaced 18 of 12....really. Mar 06, 2010 I bought my client's 12 HP M1522nf from a local office supply over the last 7 months with extended exchange warranties. The HPs are in use at different sites with different people, but are having the same results. All of the original 12 have failed, been exchanged and 6 of the exchanged units have failed and been exchanged again. That's 18 of 12...ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!
Last HP Printer I Buy Feb 03, 2010 I should have learned my lesson from the first HP Printer I owned, the HP Color LaserJet 1600. I took a baseball bat to that one and got the HP Laserjet M1522nf.
I was hoping my mistake in getting the HP 1600 was buying a color printer when all I really needed was black & white. I had high hopes for the M1522nf. Black & white only, no color cartridges to hassle with.
Well the same poor image quality, ghosting, and streaks reared their ugly heads with the M1522nf, just like they did with the HP 1600.
I've tried all the suggestions provided from HP and still I'm left with a printer that I can't use for anything important.
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
satisfied new owner Feb 01, 2010 This machine fulfills the needs for which we purchased it, and so far we are happy with the performance.
A Top Rated Printer for it's Price Range Jan 21, 2010 I have used this HP Laser-jet with a Mac, and I am very pleased with it's ease of use, print quality, and print speed. The setup is a no brainer while the overall design of the printer is exceptional.
HP software - consistently bad Dec 31, 2009 I've purchased at least 8 HP printers over the past 15 years. HP software becomes worse with each newer generation. This multifunction printer keeps on disconnecting itself from the computer (Windows XP Pro). It is not listed on HP live help. And it does not work with Windows Server operating systems, which is important to me as I sometimes will print at home documents from my office's server using Remote Desktop. Was it too much trouble for HP to write a driver? My Laserjet 4L puts this machine to shame. HP used to be a good company that built solid products, but it seems to be going the way of General Motors. I bought a Brother multifunction for my office because it actually will work with Windows Server OS. My next photo printer will probably be a Canon instead of an HP because of this machine. There simply is no excuse for poorly written software, and I refuse to patronize any company that produces a product that is not ready for prime time.
