Is there a Lemon Law for Printers? Feb 21, 2010 Poor drivers and software. HP Error message can not be removed from my system, even though I uninstalled the drivers multiple times and edited the registry. The Ink cartridges it comes with are for limited use. You are supposed to replace them because they go bad if you don't use them frequently. I called HP tech support multiple times, and connected to a support group in India, who said I could get new free cartridges on them, but could never speak to a manager to get them approved. I have got it to work many times and the next day I try it, and it won't be connected to the network. Major headache, and was a huge fan of HP printers until I had this experience.
Cost of Ink Outrageous Dec 07, 2009 The print quality of this printer is very good. The photos with the right paper are beautiful. The purchase price was great because I purchased it on sale and traded in another printer.
The printer is a little noisy. It does a lot of resetting. It also will not work unless every cartridge has ink, which is ridiculous when only printing in black ink. So if I have plenty of black ink and am printing only in black ink but one of the color cartridges is out, the printer will not operate.
The major issue is the cost of the ink. The average price seems to be almost $50 for the 5-pack combo and $20 for a black cartridge. With tax, the cost to replace the print cartridges is over $70. That is unacceptable.
In these bad economic times, it is hard to justify this expense. I'm looking at other options. If I can get a good deal on another brand and the ink is cheaper, I may be much better off in the long run.

Very disappointed with this printer Jun 09, 2009 I am very disappointed with this printer for the following reasons:
1. Replacement ink is expensive and does not last long.
2. I am held hostage to replace the ink - the printer will stop ALL printing if the cartridge is not replaced in a timely manner.
3. Constant reminders to replace the ink, must press the OK button BEFORE the page will print - I have better things to do than baby-sit my printer.
4. Will not print in black ink only - so there is no way to conserve the expensive color ink.
This is the 3rd HP printer I have purchased. We got 5 to 6 years usage out of the previous two. This one will be replaced with less than 6 months usage and not by another HP printer.
Nice printer Apr 14, 2009 Real fast delivery, great price, and picture quality. I don't use photo shops any more. It is more expensive for single prints but I don't have to wait. I do a lot of 8.5" X 11" prints for photo albums and they look photo shop quality.
Spend your dollars elsewhere Mar 17, 2009 Save your money. The HP C6280 does good work, but it has this annoying feature that it has to go through every now and then, especially when you need to print something. The sales rep told me it pressurizes the ink cartridges or something like that, in order to recycle. It sounds like a centrifuge.
But it isn't programmed to do it very often when it's not in use, but instead, it does it immediately when you hit the print button, or if you have a slight delay between your first print order and the next. You have to wait for it to go through it's long and noisy cycle. Then it's fine for awhile until you need to print something again. If you have a huge surplus of patience, you will be just fine with this printer, as it does that part of it's job very well, and is a great price. But for myself, I want it to print the moment I command it to do so, and not go into spin mode instead of print mode.
I'm trying to think up a good comparison, and the only thought that hits me is like when you've been called to eat breakfast, only to discover that it isn't done yet, but you have to sit at the table for awhile before it's ready. Why did you call me, then??? Ya, label me chauvanistic...
