2Just OK.  Jul 22, 2010
I purchased this PC Card to augment a Trendnet TEW-621PC card I purchased earlier in order to upgrade my laptop from the "g" standard to the "n" standard. This was to increase the speed and the range. However, I was dissatisfied with the Trendnet TEW-621 signal range and wanted to see if it could be improved. I live in fairly large house and could not get a signal when sitting on the back porch. Since I also use a Linksys E-3000 wireless router I assumed that I would get a better interface, stronger signal, and more range using a Linksys brand name product. However, I have been disappointed.
Pro:
-has dual band (2.4 and 5 Ghz)
Cons:
-external profile sticks out from laptop over an inch. The Trendnet sticks out only 1/2 inch.
-the signal is no stronger or range any greater (may be slightly less) than the Trendnet card.
-I paid $42.95 (new) for the Linksys card (with no better performance) and only $24.00 (new) for the Trendnet card.
Summary Recommendation:
-Save your money and go for the Trendnet TEW-621PC card if you can live with only a 2.4 Ghz band.

5Linksys WPC600N_RM  Jun 19, 2010
Recently purchased a Cisco Valet Plus Router draft N, noted that my work computer connected much faster and better signal with N capability so tried this for my older laptop. Did note that others found troubles with the supplied software, so just slid in the card slot, windows xp prof sp3 installed, I entered security code, and that was that. Didn't need the software on CD at all. Initially I though had poorer signal, but a couple of minutes later better signal and much faster data!
Up to 78mps where the old g only rarely got to full 48, often 10-30mps. Recommend this if you have a card slot this will fit and for xp sp3 os and a linksys or Cisco dual band N router. Note this is the card adapter, not the usb adapter, see my review of that on a Windows 7 32 bit system.

4Great WiFi Card, but a bit fussy install..  May 12, 2010
The performance of this WiFi card exceeds my old laptop that I use it for, so I am happy about the performance of it all.

For me, the only hiccup that I had was in the installation. The supplied driver CD did not do the job of the plug & play part (they never seem to..) so I ended up trying to let Windows pick it up and go through the windows set up wizard. After some fiddling around, I got it to work. So, the only advice is, if you're not at all experienced with installs like this, have your PC savvy friend nearby, to get it going.

5WPC600N Excellent product, easy install  Apr 19, 2010
Installed this adapter on a laptop running Win/XP Professional, install was easy, fast and works great. Did not have any problem installing the software like some have mentioned. The network software works great and has a nice interface. Installed the adapter along with a Netgear RangeMax WNDR3700 Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router.

35 Hour Installation XP SP3  Mar 09, 2010
After receiving this card I attempted to install it in a Dell Latitude D620 with XP SP3. My current internal wireless card functions well but I needed N wireless for a new router. I used the install disk and the nightmare began. It seemed to install correctly but the software provided by Linksys would not function. It hosed up my computer so badly, I went to safe mode and even then could not uninstall it. I had to do a system restore to wipe the slate. Long story short, I tried installing it 3 different ways. 3 system restores later, the card installed fine when I downloaded the software from the Cisco site and just custom installed the XP driver without the horrible software. Although it installed, I had no connection to my existing Buffalo router.

I called for Cisco support. It turned out my Dell Latitude software for the internal wireless card would not give permission for windows to control the card. So the fix was START>RUN> "services.msc", scroll down to Zero network configuration, and change the service status to Started (Startup type automatic). The card finally connected to my router, with my existing internal card disabled. Cisco support helped a lot. The card got the same speed as my existing internal card and functioned normally.

I purchased this card refurbished from one of Amazon's vendors. I was going to send it back before calling for support. For the discounted cheap price I got it for I'm OK with it, but what a nightmare installation. Some web forums indicate the driver will not work for XP SP3 and this is not accurate.
