I purchased a used printer (Canon MP 470) through this service and received it just the other day. When I turned it on it gave me an error message that said that the ink cartridge had been wrongly inserted. The ink carriage sled, however, was stuck in an inaccessible place. The only way this could get unstuck was by taking the printer apart! Seller stated that she had never encountered that problem, but the printer was shipped in that condition since no transport could have caused it. Seller denies responsibility and there appears to be no place on Amazon where I can lodge a complaint. I am seriously disgruntled and at this stage unlikely to use Amazon again.

Don't buy this Aug 02, 2010
The printer quit on me about one day after the warranty expired. First a paper jam occurred and I worked for HOURS on this machine with tweezers. After I thought I had finally gotten all tiny pieces of paper out. then it said ink had run out. Even though I had relatively new cartridges in there, I thought maybe something had happened to spill ink out and I was low. I STUPIDLY bought new ones. THen the printer said PAPER JAM again. WASTED more money than this piece of junk is worth on the print caartridges. JUNK!!!!!!

The MP470 is designed to eat toner cartridges. It uses up cartridges at a rapid clip. Admittedly the cartridges are small.

But here is my frustration. I cannot force it to print black and white. Right now I am out of color - but have plenty of black toner. The machine is telling me I am out of color toner, and refuses to print.

There is also no black and white setting that I can find. I can only find grayscale - and I am pretty sure the printer is using color to print grayscale.

A common strategy to save money printing is to set the printer to black and white. Not only can I not apparently do that, but when I am out of color, I am SOL. Look at the cost of operating the printer - this is not one that you are gonna save money on.
