Very well balanced, Works great! Feb 19, 2010 This printer has done so much for me. I've printed photographs, documents, iron-on t-shirt designs and everything has looked great! It prints fairly quickly as well. The scanner has been great for scanning documents into adobe documents, or even old photos to do some touch ups. For an all in one, it's a great thing to have. My only real complaint is replacing ink catridges so often should be a thing of the past; especially having worked with professional office printers that can print thousands off of one toner. However, you can't get as good quality, so it is a trade off. Setting up a printer has never been fun for me, this is similar, but I can't say I had any troubles with it whatsoever. If you're looking for a printer with excellent quality and functionality, I would highly recommend this for home or light home office use.
Huge Disappointment Feb 17, 2010 I've had this printer for more than a year and probably printed out fewer than 50 pages on it before it stopped working. The paper feed stopped working, so nothing will print. The scanner won't work unless both ink cartridges are loaded, even though ink is not needed in order to scan a document into PDF format. Before the paper feed stopped working, the print quality was poor. The ink printed out too light, and there were blurred/double images of type on part of the page.
Fortunately, this printer was given to my family (brand new) as a gift, so the only investment I made was in the ink cartridges, which are more expensive than most of the comparable brands.
I think Canon should stick to making cameras, even though I believe the quality and output of their cameras is mediocre and is surpassed by Nikon and some other brands.
Although my printer might be an uncharacteristic "lemon" and an exception to the norm, I recommend avoiding this product based on my experience.
PRINTER Feb 11, 2010 GREAT PRODUCT I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS SPECIFIC PRINTER YOU CAN REFILL IT WITH INK VERY NICE
Amazon disappoints Feb 07, 2010 I wish I could give an actual review of the quality of this printer, but....
I ordered this printer along with a bunch of extra ink in October thinking I would have it in no time. I received all of the ink cartridges fairly quickly and in late November I received an email saying my printer's delivery would be delayed because it was out of stock, but would ship as soon as possible. I decided not to cancel my order given that I had already invested a good sum of money stocking up on ink and whatnot for the printer and I wasn't really in much of a rush, not to mention I'd previously had good experiences using amazon. Since then I've checked online multiple times and found that amazon.com listed the printer as being in stock. I've attempted contacting costumer support many times about this problem, but was only given the redundant answer that I received the previous email because it was out of stock and it would ship when it could. Well, this answer disregarded the fact that their website had been claiming that it was currently available. It's now February of the following year and I still haven't received this printer, yet it's still listed as in stock. Needless to say, I'll be buying the printer elsewhere and will doubtfully be making any purchases through amazon.com in the future.

constant paper jams.... Jan 11, 2010 This printer worked alright for a short time when I bought it a little over a year ago. It soon, however, began to have problems feeding the paper in, and it's been a problem ever since. It will feed in a piece of paper half way, then stop; I have to pull it out of the printer (sometimes really hard to get out), reset and start over. If it's printing less than a full page of images or text, it will not feed the paper back out when finished, and I have to pull it out of the printer and reset again--all very frustrating when you're trying to print several things in a row, not to mention trying to print quickly.
also, print quality has never been very good, with photos in particular....
bummed. gonna look for a new kind.
