Simply the best printer I have even owned. Jan 12, 2010 This printer is amazing. The ink is relatively easy to find and not super expensive. The printer is very reliable. There is a top and bottom paper loading trey and you can easily switch between which to use. The whole thing closes up very nicely so you can keep dust out. Ink installation is a breeeze. Printing speed is perfect. Scanning is realitively easy. The software isnt bloated and annoying. Basically if you are looking for a printer that simply prints... doesnt cost a lot.. and gets the job done this is it. Ive seen and used quite a few printers and have constantly appreciated my decicion to buy this one.
+3 *s for brand & performance, -2 *s cost & consumption of ink Aug 26, 2009 As far as features, this printer is a vast improvement over my older Lexmark and Canon. I love the color copying and duplex printing features. Photos come out very well. However, the price of a new printer on a great deal is not that much more expensive than the replacement ink. I haven't bothered with remanufactured or filling my own in some time since the resulting printing was disappointing. I have this Canon and another Pixma MX300. Walmart had a new Pixma MX320 (newer) for $70 while the replacement ink at Staples cost $40 for black & $27.19 for color (for MX320). I could have a newer printer including ink for the same price. The Pixma MP610 ink was $57.49 for all colored ink and my first purchase of remanufactured black ink was $14.29. These printers seem to use ink rapidly. If one doesn't mind the cost of ink or is content with remanufactured or do-it-yourself refills, this printer is highly recommended.

Poorly designed cartridges Jun 23, 2009 Our last printer was a Canon and I was extremely pleased with it, so we bought another one when it died. Although it prints well, the rollers already squeak (after 4 months) when forwarding paper through the printer and that's annoying. But the biggest problem with the printer is the cartridges. Unlike my last printer, these cartridges CANNOT BE REFILLED! When we ran out of ink while printing my son's school project, I ran down to our local "Cartridge World" to refill the color cartridges and got a big "NO" we can't do that. Apparently, Canon refuses to make a "chip resetter" for this cartridge. Once used, it is USELESS. Unlike Canon's own "ECOSENSE" project, I find these cartridges to have no sense designed into them whatsoever. They are difficult to find (target and walmart did not carry all of them, and Staples was out when I needed them). We had to order the cartridges online and print at school. And worst of all, even Canon does not recycle them to reuse them. I would never have bought this printer had I known of these problems.
Canon Pixma MP610 Printer. Jun 13, 2009 This was a printer refurbished by Canon. Delivery was on time and the printer works perfectly and looks like a new one. I praise the supplier who sold this item to me.
Canon Pixma Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer May 18, 2009 I have bought two of these printers as gifts because they are easy to use and meet most needs m yet are compact. The low cost is a plus.
