Sleek, home office printer. Mar 19, 2010 I bought the Canon MP620 about 6 months ago. It arrived in great condition and I was able to set it up in about 15 minutes using the wireless connection. So far I really love this printer. It's great for home office use, especially if there is more than one user in your home. One of my favorite features is the scan option, because it is so easy. Once your document is scanned, it gives you the option to PDF it. And voila, you can just email it. I never fax documents anymore. I really like the fact that its features are easy to navigate and use.
Love the printer but... Mar 13, 2010 Ink cartridges aka "liquid gold" run out quickly, especially the black. So you'll burn a hole in your wallet buying new ones. The printer can take up to 2 minutes on certain (single page) print outs. I think this usually happens when it's been off or idle for a while. It's not super noisy, but it does complain a little out loud every once in a while. After all these negative remarks, I still have to say I really really like it. The picture quality is great!
I'd probably buy something else Mar 08, 2010 I bought this printer about 6 months ago. My previous printer was a all in one HP that I've had for about 5 years. The only thing this printer has that my hp didn't was wifi printing.
At first I though this was an ok printer. The print quality was fantastic, but it the print and scan speeds are slow compared to my old hp. The ink consumption is ridiculous on this thing. I've had to replace numerous cartridges already. Now I've started buying the cheapo cartridges off of amazon, but haven't installed and used them yet. If they are not a viable solution to the ink usage then I will be tossing this puppy in the trash and buying another hp.
Excellent buy for the money Mar 06, 2010 I purchased the Canon MP620 to replace an Epson. I am very happy with this product overall. The paper tray is a little flimsy and difficult to access and the procedure for copying is a little confusing, but the quality of pictures is excellent. The setup is very easy and this is a good buy.
This machine (Canon MP620)stinks Mar 02, 2010 I've owned quite a few printers over the years, of various makes, both for personal and work use. This Canon is by far the most aggravating, difficult to use, and expensive to use machine I've ever worked with - including some really clunky dot matrix antiques back in the late seventies. First , you never know how much ink is left. It starts blinking at you way before the ink is out, then suddenly, in the middle of a project, it runs out. An oddity, even though I do a lot of black and white work,is that the blue runs out before the black!!! When I can find the ink for this machine, it comes in "sets" of all the colors. Consequently I'm getting an excess of some colors that are sitting around getting old. The ink is expensive!!!! Crazy expensive. And the reservoirs are small. Secondly, if you need to go to a new function, you'd better have lots of time. There is no manual in the real sense of the word. There are a number of programs to hunt through, but no intuitive way to find anything. No buttons to push as on my old HP. So you hunt through myriads of menus, again nothing intuitive about them. It's just a time waster. Give me a well indexed manual, even one written by someone questionably fluent in the language. No, it's neither quiet nor quick. But it does print nice color prints - though when you are copying you may have to do a few to get exactly what you want. I've never wanted a machine to wear out before (except maybe a car or two I've owned) but I can't wait for this lemon to die.
