 worst printer, horrible customer support Jun 03, 2010
DO NOT BUY BROTHER PRINTERS! We bought it mainly for the wireless feature. Less than 3 months after we bought this printer, it stopped working. It will not print in 'black', only colors. Tried cleaning it as per the instructions but this did not help. Even bought as new black ink cartridge. Found out that the problem is quite common, complaints on this are all over the internet. Called customer support and it was a joke. They asked us to clean it again twice, then perform a deep cleaning procedure. Nothing worked. Their only objective is to find a excuse for you not to return the printer. I have called them 4 times so far, more than 2 hours on the phone for a $200 printer. On my last attempt the rep refused to process the return request unless I faxed them my receipt while I was talking to her!!! I am really disappointed by Brother product quality, but mostly by their incompetent customer service. My old Canon i860 photo printer still works after 8 years.

I love this machine! It replaced an earlier version for us (the 640).
The answering machine is sometimes dodgy, but otherwise worth every penny!

well worth your money Mar 22, 2010
This is my second MFC product. the first one I had was a lower model. I have used it for 5 years without a problem until recently when the blank color stop working. I believe it clogs the system after prolong non-usage. Got this ew 990 cw and it looks great. setup was so easy since i used it before and i never ever use a USB. higly recommended.

This Brother all-in-one was easy to set-up, works flawlessly with great print quality.Connecting to my wireless network was quick and easy and it's nice to be able to print to this machine from all of my computers.

Great All-Around Aug 24, 2009
As a replacement for a five-year-old and failing all-in-one, this has proved an excellent choice: easy to use, compact and actually attractive. The Answering Machine feature has further enabled me to eliminate paid-for voice mail and its frustrating, hard to receive fax program. I would recommend it.
