 Great value for small business just getting started! Aug 23, 2010
We were looking for something with a great value for our new business that wouldn't break our budget but have the versatility to be able to print wirelessly from one part of the office to the other. This unit had all the features at the right price. It was here very quickly and replaced the old printer that didn't have all of the capabilities that this had. We are very pleased with the Brother MFC-790CW.
 Doesn't like black print; poor customer support Jul 31, 2010
I use this product at home, mainly for low volume copying and printing. Everything was fine for about a year, then things went bad.
Suddenly I couldn't get black to print. The other 3 colors worked fine. I inserted 2 new black cartridges, and nothing changed. I cleaned the heads about 5 times with no effect.I would print out a test print, and yellow, blue, and magenta looked fine; no black whatsoever.
I sent an email to Brother customer service. They did reply quickly, however they just repeated what's in the User Guide so it wasn't any help, since I had already gone through this more than once.

Make sure you like to non printing features Mar 06, 2010
Make sure you like the non printing features because the printer stopped working within weeks. Brother replaced my first unit, and now the second one stopped printing. So now instead of a printer I have a large answering machine! I wish I had purchased something else.

Good overall, but if you don't use the print feature much, it takes awhile for the ink to come out clearly

MFC-885CW:
We use this only to accept FAXes, and the useage is VERY light (not more than 5 pages per month. At 15 months the black print head appears to have failed just like a previous reviewer has noted above. Ours though is out of warranty. We bought it at Staples, and also purchased their "2 year TSPP Coverage." I usually do not purchase such covrage, so now, I am thankful I have a least a shot at getting this repaired. I wish I had purchased something else! This is just poor quality equipment!
