 As good as Apple's own, at a better price Jun 29, 2009
Got one of these to replace my dead Apple battery. Works great. 4+ hours of battery life out of the box. Absolutely no issues. It just works.
One very minor note: the color of the battery does not exactly match the Macbook Pro. Not a big deal. Nobody is looking AT the battery.
Other thoughts: The battery works so well, a friend of mine got one for his Macbook Pro and he's seeing the same great performance. For the excellent price, this battery is unbeatable.
 MacBook Pro battery doesn't cool off computer Jun 27, 2009
The battery works. No question there. It has a longer life than our 3-year-old battery, that was down to about an hour and a half. Now we're up to about 4.5 hours, which is less than I was hoping for (as our previous battery started at about 6 hours). I guess my brain's thinking that technology is greater and advances faster than it actually does. The computer's still hot, though. Really hot. Burn-your-hand-if-you-touch-the-bottom-of-the-computer hot. And I wasn't expecting that. Or maybe I should've, since our previous battery wasn't a recalled one, so why would I expect this one would be any cooler? Maybe my complaint is off-base and it's the computer that's so fiery, not the battery. Regardless, I hope Apple has made progress since this MacBook Pro, which I love except for the temperatures it generates.

Be aware that Apple considers batteries "consumables" and are not covered by any warranty. The warranty is tied to your MacBook Pro. If your laptop is out of warranty, so is your battery. This, sadly, is what I discovered when I called Apple tech support about my defective batteries.
I have 2: one that originally came with my laptop, and one I purchased separately for extra power on the road. Both used minimally and about 2 years old when they started having major problems holding a charge and reporting the wrong remaining charge. With one battery, at 85% remaining, the laptop would just completely and suddenly shut down.
These batteries are supposed to last up to 1,000 cycles, according to the specs. Mine died way before that. When not on the road, I remove the battery and run on AC power, in order to prolong the battery's lifespan (heat deteriorates the cells). One battery has had 146 charge cycles and the other has had 66, as reported by the System Profiler. The charge capacity is wildly erratic, and both show up as "Check Battery" in Profiler status.
Apple issued a battery recall on this SKU, but unfortunately, mine was not eligible for replacement. Non-recalled batteries like mine still have quality control issues, which Apple will not acknowledge.
You may be fortunate to have a good battery and not have to go through the problems I experienced. Mine are 2/2 defective, so I am frustrated at Apple's lack of support. Just something to be aware of when deciding to purchase this battery as a spare because $110 is not a small chunk of change.

Old one lasted for about 1 year before if doesnt hold charge anymore with cycle still less than 300. New one works as expected, says about 3 hrs - guess that's the best a macbook pro can do.

Got delivery of the battery promptly. So far it has been holding up charge real well. Also, Apple has it listed for 129 dollars - amazon is 10 dollars cheaper..
