Works Great and I am very happy Dec 21, 2008 Works great! Have had it for a few months now and I am very happy with it. I like how it came pre-loaded with open office on it. Good choice for an ultra-portable.

love it! Dec 21, 2008 -Absolutely great product. I bought this because it's small, and cheap(-er than other big note books).
-The key board it pretty good. I love the user defined buttons ( wish there were more though ).
-The mouse pad buttons are a little screwy, but I use the multi tap pad for right click anyway.
-The battery life is not as long as the advertised 6-7 hrs its more like 4-5hrs.( well, if you actually use the computer its only 4-5hrs )
-I bought this version over the others because of the extened battery life, bluetooth and wireless b/g/n.
-The 160GB HDD was split into two partitions, so I used partition magic and mashed them together.
-The lack of a CDrom is only disruptive b/c I wanted to add linux but usbs can turn into bootable drives so that's fixed.

Excellent little companion Dec 20, 2008 After having one of the baby EeePc's (4G) for about 8 months, I knew that I liked the concept of a netbook but also that I needed something more. While the baby's size made it very handy, it also made it difficult to use because of the tiny keys on the keyboard (and I don't have fat fingers). Touch typing was out of the question. Also, I found that while Linux is a great operating system with a lot of intuitive features, it wasn't capable of coordinating with certain software that I had at work which would allow me to remotely access my work files. In sum, while the baby Eee is a genuine computer, it's basically a toy.
The Eee PC 1000H is far superior. Although it's not quite as handy as the 4, it's still very easy to carry and stash. The keyboard is much more useful, except for the location of the right shirt key. The presence of Windows XP means it's compatible with all my work applications -- although I don't plan to use it for work that involves much heavy keyboarding; my Macbook Pro is for such activities. The battery life is phenomenal. The speed is fine. It's very easy to upgrade to 2 gigs of RAM. Once you adjust the settings, you can fit the entire width of a Web page on the screen (unlike the baby, which involved a lot of left-right scrolling). About the only thing I don't care for -- besides the location of the right shift key -- is the trackpad, which seems to be overly sensitive. Often when trying to move the cursor by moving my finger on the trackpad, I find that I've inadvertently highlighted text. I then have to go back to where the cursor was originally and start again. It's a pain, and I wish I could figure out how to make it not occur. This problem with the trackpad andt he aforementioned location of the right shift key, are the only reasons I did not rate this 5 stars. All in all, however, I'm very glad I got it.

Love it!!! Dec 20, 2008 I wanted something lightweight and portable for travel. I researched every netbook I could find on the internet. After reading the marketing hype and watching some comparisons on youtube I decided on the Asus Eee 1000H. I like the battery life (getting around 5 hours watching movies), Bluetooth, and the touch pad (scrolling with 2 fingers is cool). This lives up to every good thing I have read about it and I have yet to experience any of the problems people have reported (crashing, etc.). You can't get too crazy with the applications you use (large spreadsheets, photoshop, etc.) because of the screen size, but that is not what it is meant for anyway.
